Dr. Dawn Lawson

Dr. Dawn Lawson is a native of Sherman Oaks, CA. When she was just five years old, she planned her life as a veterinarian. A Bachelor of Science degree from Cal Poly Pomona along with employment in small animal hospitals as kennel help, receptionist, and veterinary assistant lead up to veterinary school. Dr. Lawson earned her DVM at Oklahoma State University in 1984. Dr. Lawson owned a small animal practice in Sacramento for eleven years, then joined a large group veterinary practice for another six years. December 2000, Dr. Lawson joined the staff at West Hills Animal Hospital. Dr. Lawson has three adult children, one grandson, and multiple granddogs. Throughout life, her home has loved an assortment of pets including cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, pocket pets, fish, and even a potbellied pig. She currently has a Boxer, Amelia, who rules the house, and over the past few years has opened her home to several senior rescue dogs allowing them to live in comfort until their time to cross The Rainbow Bridge. In addition to spending time with her family and pets, she enjoys hiking in our local mountains, traveling, reading, and crafting. Dr. Lawson is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, California Veterinary Medical Association, and Southern California Veterinary medical association. Providing the highest level of care for your pet family is her pleasure and passion.
